A Dancing Party with Kate Lynch and Her Most Excellent Fellows: Social dance instruction to live music!

KICK OFF EVENT Saturday March 5th 8pm in a private studio/residence on Kenilworth Trail in South Minneapolis.

Offering: Dance Lesson led by our relaxed and enthusiastic resident dance expert Zach Beckman. Wine and Nibbles provided. Live band throughout the dance lesson A little party with Kate &Fellows follows the lesson. Our dance teacher will stay for on-the-fly feedback and dance help during the party!

Our aim is for you to leave our Dancing Parties with a good feeling and a little more social dance knowledge than you came with!

Come alone or come with a partner~its all good!

Our Dancing Party is unique for many reasons.
1) There will be a live band at the beck and call of the teacher for the entire lesson…nothing like the real thing!
2) Our teacher is happy, amazing and his enthusiasm is contagious
3) The ambiance is more of a party and less of a dance studio/class
4) A social gathering with live music follows on the heels of the lesson for you to practice new skills
5) You will get more familiar with Kate & Fellows repertoire so you can storm the floor at later gigs!

Why we are doing this: After my band, Kate Lynch and Her Most Excellent Fellows, is finished playing a night of tunes from circa 1930, audience members often approach me and tell me they don’t know ‘how to dance’. What they mean isn’t that they don’t know how to dance, its that they don’t know the old dances, the ones where we are actually touching, like East Coast Swing, Peabody and Foxtrot….dances from circa 1930. Based on so many of these requests to ‘learn to dance’ I am producing a series of classes in a unique and comfortable party-like atmosphere where we can all relax, have fun and learn to dance!
